Itinerary
Day 1
As the sun rises, we collect you from your accommodation in Durban and surrounding areas, aiming for a 6am departure. Your 3 Day Big 5 Safari begins
En-route, to the Game Reserve, the drive will be filled with stories of the history of Durban and KwaZulu Natal, once known as the Kingdom of the Zulus.
Our first stop will be at the St Lucia Wetlands, part of the Isimangaliso Park, a World Heritage Site. Here we will board a boat for a 2-hour cruise of the estuary, viewing hippos and crocodiles.
Following this, is a lunch stop, near to the Hluhluwe-Imfolozi Game Reserve.
Our first Game drive for 3 Day Big 5 Safari starts from the moment we enter the Reserve and we will spend the afternoon observing and learning about the wild animals, hoping to see Africa’s Big 5.
As the day draws to a close, we check in to our camp in the northern section of the Game Reserve, perched high upon a hill, with panoramic views over the rolling hills.
Tonight, we have the opportunity to go on a 3-hour sunset game drive, in an open safari vehicle.
We arrive back in camp ready to enjoy a scrumptious buffet dinner, offering a variety of local cuisines.
After dinner, we do a mini walking safari in the camp, searching for some of the night creatures like scorpions. (optional, no cost)
Day 2
Today we can explore and find as many animals as possible. We will have options of driving a few hours in the morning and a few hours in the evening with time to rest in between, or take breakfast packs and do a full days game drive. we will make sure we stop somewhere for lunch, possibly a barbeque.
That evening we will be back in the camp, enjoying dinner
Day 3
We wake before sunrise for an early morning game drive and the possibility of finding lions, elephant and rhino.
After breakfast, we may continue with more safari drives or head to some optional activities as our 3 Day Big 5 Safari draws to an end
Optional activities are also available such as an elephant interaction or cheetah interaction.
In the heat of the day we will stop for some lunch before we head back to Durban, arriving at our accommodation around 5pm.
